Do you have secrets? You know the kind. The ones that you don’t want anyone to know about.
Think for one minute, no make that one second. If you have secrets, don’t you think other people have them too? I’m going to guess that we all do. No matter how big or how small
I can’t speak for you, but I’m sure that no matter how bad you may feel yours are. You know someone who has bigger ones than you.
So, with that in mind. I ask you this: Do we really know anyone? Can you honestly know what someone is thinking, how they are feeling or what they have done? Do you know what they do when you are not with them?
The answer is NO. They may tell you the truth, or maybe just part of the truth, leaving out anything incriminating. Or maybe total fallacies.
So no, we don’t honestly know anyone. There are two sides to this. On the one hand, do you want to be inside their heads? Not me, I have enough running through my head to keep me busy. On the other hand, who are they? If we could, we would have a clearer picture of who was standing next to us, who we invite into our homes, share lunch with, for that matter, share our bed with.
Time after time the news stations report on mass murders, arsonists, child abductors and so many more horrific criminals, stating neighbors never had a clue.
You hear them say things like, “He was such a quiet neighbor … she was a good mom … I would never have thought he would do such a thing … I am shocked.”
You may think to yourself, how could they not know? How could they think they were normal? Something must have been off. They choose to turn a blind eye. How could they not have known?
People carry their secret thoughts and actions around with them day in and day out, without anyone being the wiser. Secrets as little as not liking their boss, to as crazy as wanting to kill them.
You just don’t know what people are thinking or what their thoughts will propel them to do.
Appearances aren’t always the truth. What you see with your eyes, or better yet, what you perceive to be, doesn’t always tell the entire story.
Peoples true colors aren’t always visible. What is really going on behind that smile, that wave good morning or that nod of a head?
Did it hit their eyes, was it the last wave you’ll ever see and was that the nod of “OH you’re next?”
Trust me; I don’t want to make you paranoid, but seriously, DO YOU REALLY KNOW?
